Maaloo Geocaching on W10m

I have been using Maaloo Geocaching 2.8.2.0 on a Lumia 950 XL for a few days and notice slow map updates.

On my previous phone and on my wifes phone (Lumia 920), map updates happen each second, but on Lumia 950 XL it takes between 5 and 7 Seconds between each map update. The GPS accuracy is also never around 2-3 meters as it is on the older phone, but instead around 20-80 meters. Other applications, like the inbuilt map application from Here/Microsft does have fast map updates.

Otherwise it is working very good on 950 XL. And the new 2.8.2.0 version is nice with icon status remembered between each session

what build number is on your phone? I got some problems on the Lumia 920 too, but since the build 10.01.10586.29 it is working better then ever before. Maybe a OS-systemupdate will fix it.

I have used maaloo on both the original .00 and the new .29 version of the OS. Makes no difference.

I experienced a strange bug on 10586.29 (Lumia 1520): My compass crashed after the last maaloo update and could not be used anywhere else in the OS anymore.
Soft resets did not help and I had to do a hard reset.

I don't know whether maaloo caused it the OS caused this. Anyone experiencing the same?

I got a firmware update for my Lumia 950 XL on monday and Maaloo is working a lot better after my phone was updated. Map is now refreshed every 1 second and gps accuracy is usually better than 10 meters.

After a reset, the app works like a charm again on 1520. A (very tiny) bit slower than on WP8.1, but it works. GPS accuracy is fine.

Never had an issue, in terms of performance, on windows mobile, and I'm an Insider since April 2015.

But I have noticed ONE reason for the app to get a lot slower, it's when you have a pocket query enabled.

I had once 1000 points in Helsinki activated, and forgot to disable them when I was back to France. I think the app reloaded all of them everytime I accessed the map, slowing the app. When I disabled these waypoints, the app was as responsive as initially.

This of course has nothing to do with the OS, but you could check if you have any waypoints activated if you notice lags in the app.
