Weird bug

I've been using Maaloo Geocaching for years and loved it. But lately there has been huge problems with the app; sometimes the app doesn't open at all because the live tile gets black. When this happened for the first time, in last July, I unistalled the app and it worked again. But I also lost all of my waypoints and so on because of that.
Some weeks later it happened again. This time I just waited and it started working again after a couple of hours. (=live tile got normal again and I was able to launch the app)
A week later it happened too, that time it took about 12 hours for the app to get normal. And during this week this has happened twice, which makes the app very unreliable.

I am using Nokia 1020 (Lumia Denim) with the app version of 2.8.1.1. I will try to attach a picture about this situation to this post.

I have turned my phone on and off many times while this has happened. I also know that it's not about failing app-updates, because I tried to turn off my automatic updating, which didn't help.

When this happens, I'm also not able to launch the app from the software list.

Do you have the same kind of issues with other apps? Have you tried a soft reset (no data loss)?

No, this is the only app that I have problems with. I'll give the soft reset a try.

I had the same problem twice since last Friday. The last time I had to wait 24 hours until the app worked again.

I use a Lumia 830 with the app Version v2.8.1 and the Outdoor InApp.

Does anybody have an idea what to do about this problem? I have again not been able to launch the app since yesterday morning.

This problem might have something to do with my failing automatic backups, which seems to be pretty common issue with Windows Phones. I turned my automatic app-backup off two weeks ago, and this problem hasn't occurred after that. I will let you know if the problem comes back.

Agree, the same behaviour on L735.
First I think, it is problem with my SD card, because storage sense showed 0 bytes for application size on SD card. But problem was only with maaloo application.
Was maaloo geocaching on your phones installed on local storage or on SD card when problems occurred?

Does this behaviour still exist with v2.8.2?
I have enabled an option to skip maaloo from auto backup in the developer studio. I hope this flag works.

Maaloo was installed in my local storage. When I turned the auto-backups off, I didn't have the problem anymore. And thanks for adding this new option.
